Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Long Term Acute Care position requiring 3 years of experience and a CT or compact RN license.
Details
- Long term acute care setting focused on medical, rehab, and respiratory patients
- 24-bed unit at the satellite campus
- Patient population is approximately 65% chronic vent/trach and 35% rehab-type patients including stroke, TBI, respiratory failure, and COPD
- Patient ratios range from 1:5-8, averaging 6-7 patients
- 12-hour night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend required
- May float to like units at another campus, including Respiratory Care Unit/Step Down, MRU/CMU, and TRU, with travelers prioritized for floating
- Float ratios vary by unit, ranging from 1:7 to 1:12 depending on shift and unit
- Float RNs will not be assigned to Pediatrics unless pedi-specific
Requirements
- Active CT or compact RN license required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 3 years of RN experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred
- Experience with respiratory or ventilated patients strongly preferred
- Clean and well-organized professional profile required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include IV starts, medication drips, blood administration, EKGs, medication titrations, glucose monitoring, wound vac changes, and wound dressing care
- Additional duties include trach care, suctioning, straight catheterization, foley care, port access, central line dressing, and wound measurements
- Nurses are not responsible for managing ventilators, as this is handled by respiratory therapists
- Local candidates accepted
- Local and radius rate rules apply based on distance from the facility
