Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for Labor & Delivery on night shift, requiring TN or compact RN license, AWHONN fetal monitoring certification, and NRP.
Details
- Labor & Delivery unit within Women's Services, 9 L&D beds, 3 swing rooms, 2 ORs, and a 3-bed OBED
- Patient ratio of 1-2
- Night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, 13-week assignment
- 4 weekend shifts per month required
- Unit staffed with unit secretary, scrub tech, dedicated in-house CRNA and midwife 24/7, and on-call OBGYN
- May float to Mother/Baby or other departments for specific tasks
- Documentation systems: CPN and Meditech
- Performs procedures including circulating in OR, IUPC, FSE, MgSO4 administration, postpartum hemorrhage management with JADA system, and nitrous oxide use
Requirements
- Active TN or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP (Advanced 9th Edition) certifications required
- Fetal Monitoring certification (AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced, or NCCEFM) required
- US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Provide high-quality laboring care while supporting patient choice and promoting vaginal birth opportunities
- Facility uses a laborist team model with 24/7 midwives, dedicated CRNA, and on-call OB support
- Couplet care practiced in postpartum unit to keep newborns bedside and support breastfeeding, including donor milk availability
- 8-bed Level II NICU with dedicated NNP available 24/7, including attendance at high-risk deliveries
- Experience with Spinning Babies and STABLE techniques helpful but not required
- Required uniform colors are hot pink and black, with hot pink preferred on top
- Unit recognized as HCA Unit of Distinction in 2021 and serves as a TIPQC pilot hospital for NTSV and Team Birth initiatives
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not considered
- Patient experience scores must remain above 75%
