Description

American Traveler is hiring an inpatient Ultrasound Technologist/Sonographer with 3+ years of specialty experience and prior travel assignment history for a Level II trauma center.

Details

  • Inpatient Imaging Ultrasound unit at a Level II trauma center
  • 3x12 hour shifts, 5:00 AM-5:30 PM, Saturday, Sunday, Monday
  • 36 guaranteed weekly hours
  • No call requirements
  • May be required to float to the needs of the organization up to competency level
  • Required to pick up one additional shift during the schedule period
  • Schedule can include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts
  • Facility may cancel shifts with 48 hours notice for low census
  • Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

  • Minimum three years of clinical experience in the respective specialty required
  • Experience in OBGYN, small parts, cardiovascular, and pediatrics highly preferred
  • Prior travel experience of at least one 13-week assignment required within the past year
  • Active registry through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (RCS or RVS) or American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDMS, RVT, or RDCS) - license required if applicable
  • CPR certification upon hire
  • AHA BLS certification required
  • Must be able to work with patients ranging from infant to geriatric populations

Additional Information

  • Perform complex diagnostic ultrasound procedures specializing in two or more areas such as Cardiac, Vascular, or General imaging
  • Follow physician orders and established protocols to ensure improved patient outcomes
  • May perform invasive techniques such as contrast agent administration, paracentesis, thoracentesis, biopsy exams, and line placement depending on modality
  • Examinations may be performed in the ultrasound department or other departments and nursing floors as needed
  • May mentor ultrasound students and provide training to new department staff
  • Participate in accreditation and re-accreditation processes for respective modality
  • Responsible for maintaining equipment and lab area, including checking code carts, eye wash stations, and blanket warmers
  • Minimum of two major holidays coverage required
  • Must maintain proficiency with sophisticated ultrasonic imaging systems and stay current on technological advances
  • Candidates must live outside a 60-mile radius of the facility as local candidates are not accepted
  • A 13-week break is required after ending a prior contract at this facility, regardless of length or extensions
  • No blocked scheduling is allowed and all assignments are for 13 weeks
  • Requested RTO must be submitted with the application as it cannot be made up at the end of the contract
