Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN with an active AZ or compact RN license and at least 2 years of ED experience for a float role between the ED and CDU.

Details

• Float between the Emergency Department and CDU (Observation Unit)
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (12:00-00:30)
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients
• Meditech charting system used, prior experience preferred but not required
• Weekend and holiday coverage required
• Blocked scheduling cannot be guaranteed

Requirements

• Active RN license (AZ or compact) required
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
• ESI certification preferred
• Experience with pediatric, psychiatric, respiratory, neurological, and trauma patient populations preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and management of ventilated or critically ill patients preferred
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, EKG interpretation, and dysrhythmia management preferred
• Level I or II Trauma Center, teaching hospital, and community hospital experience preferred
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Copy of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration

• Orientation held every Monday and includes non-billable training modules
• First-time travelers accepted if they have more than 2 years of ED experience
• Travel pairs are accepted
• Former permanent employees must wait 12 months before returning as travelers
• Locals and first-time travelers accepted at the same pay rate
• Responsibilities include triage, trauma care, and management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction
• Role may involve care for psychiatric holds, overdose, and behavioral health emergencies
• Requires proficiency in PPE and isolation precautions
