Description

American Traveler is seeking a Home Health RN with OASIS and HCHB experience for a Suffolk/Newport News area caseload requiring a VA or compact RN license.

Details

• Home Health setting serving the Suffolk/Portsmouth or Newport News/Hampton peninsula territories
• Geriatric patient population
• Average caseload of 5-7 patients per day
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• EMR: HCHB experience required
• On-call required on a 1-week rotation, likely occurring once during the contract
• Weekend rotation required, likely occurring once during the contract
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active RN license (VA or Compact) required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year recent relevant Home Health experience required
• OASIS experience required for staff completing Start of Care (SOC)
• Proficiency in HCHB (Homecare Homebase) charting system required
• Active driver's license and personal transportation required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include admission assessments, start of care, recertification, resumption of care, routine visits, and discharge documentation
• Duties include wound/integumentary care, medication administration and management, pain assessment, and IV/subcutaneous/IM medication administration
• Timely communication and documentation are mandatory
• iPad provided for charting; personal cell phone use not required for the role
• Mileage reimbursed at the IRS standard rate
• Dress code is scrubs of any color; jeans not permitted
• Local candidates accepted at the travel rate
• Travel pairs accepted, though each traveler is assigned to their own territory and must have their own transportation
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
• Former permanent employees must be separated for a minimum of 6 months and approved by HR before returning as a traveler
• Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application
• Monday orientation required
