Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced GI/Endoscopy RN for a 13-week acute care assignment requiring strong airway management and IV skills in a high-volume advanced GI setting.

Details

• Acute care setting within a Gastro Intestinal Services department
• Unit features 6-7 procedure rooms and 28 pre/post recovery bays
• Handles 20-30 cases per day including EGD, colonoscopy, EUS, ERCP, stone management, and GI bleed cases
• Serves both inpatient and outpatient populations with high-volume advanced GI cases
• Manages 2-3 patients typically staying 30-45 minutes for recovery before discharge home or return to inpatient room
• Day shift schedule with 4x9 hour shifts (7am-4:30pm)
• Monday through Friday schedule with no weekends
• No call requirements (weeknight, weekend, or holiday)
• No floating required
• Charge nurse present on each shift
• Uses EPIC EMR

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Proficient in IV skills, post-anesthesia care, airway management, procedural sedation, and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Strong advanced airway management skills required
• Must produce a negative drug screen as facility is a Drug-Free Campus

Additional Information

• Provide pre/post procedural care for GI/Endoscopy patients including advanced airway and IV management
• One week of unit-specific pre/post orientation provided
• Must provide own scrubs with no specific color requirement
• Local candidates welcome; local rate applies to clinicians with a permanent address within 50 miles of the facility
