Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring 2 years of acute inpatient PCU experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- 44-bed Acute Cardiac PCU setting
- Patient ratio of 3-4:1
- Common diagnoses include ACS, PCI, CHF, and thoracic surgery
- Common medications include NTG, amiodarone, dopamine, Cardizem, and Flolan
- Night shift schedule from 6:45p-7:15a, every other weekend
- 36 hours per week across 3 shifts at 12 hours per day
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active RN license (KY or Compact) required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient PCU RN experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required
- Skilled in reading telemetry and titrating drips
- Experience with EKGs, sheaths, epicardial pacing, ventilators, temporary pacing wires, wound vacs, TR-bands, PCA, CPAP, and feeding tubes
Additional Information
- Provides direct patient care including assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation for a cardiac PCU patient population
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams and patient families to coordinate care
- Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed staff and serves as a mentor/preceptor
- Participates in quality, safety, and service improvement initiatives
- Works within a teamwork-focused unit culture
