Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a night-shift Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Float position requiring strong telemetry or IMC experience and an OR RN license.
Details
- Float pool position supporting PCU, MS/Tele, Stepdown, and IMC units within an acute care hospital
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-07:30
- RN to patient ratio of 1:4-6
- Required to float within scope to meet facility needs, including to an affiliate hospital approximately 15 minutes away
- Every other weekend required
- Uses Epic for computerized documentation
- No block scheduling accommodations
Requirements
- Active RN license (OR license required, pending accepted at time of submission)
- BLS and ACLS certification required through AHA; NIHSS preferred
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience within the last 3 years in MS/Tele/PCU/IMC setting
- Epic charting experience required
- Strong telemetry or IMC experience required
- Skilled in management and interpretation of cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias
- Experience managing cardiac drips (nitro, Cardizem, amiodarone)
- Skilled in non-invasive airway management, O2 protocol, and peripheral line care/management
- Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and rapid response team activation
- No first-time travelers accepted
Additional Information
- Works within the hospital's Float Pool Team supporting adult inpatient units including ED, ICU, inpatient rehab, vascular access, and adult care units
- Provide telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response activation
- Facility is a Magnet-designated, teaching hospital and Level II Trauma Center
- Royal blue scrub color required
- RTO requests over 10 days require approval and must be finalized at time of submittal
- Local candidates accepted
- Former permanent employees ineligible to apply within six months of employment termination
- First-time travelers not accepted for this role
