Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PCU Float position requiring strong telemetry/IMC experience and an active or pending Oregon RN license.

Details

• Float pool role supporting MS/Tele/PCU/Stepdown units within a Magnet, teaching, Level II Trauma Center
• 569-bed short-term acute care hospital setting
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:30
• Patient ratios of RN 1:4-6, with CNA ratios of 1:6-13 on days and 1:10-13 on nights
• Required to float within scope to meet facility needs, including to an affiliate hospital approximately 15 minutes away
• Every other weekend required, but not guaranteed
• Epic EMR used for charting

Requirements

• Active or pending Oregon RN license accepted at time of consideration
• Oregon CNA license must be in hand; no pending CNA or expired RN/CNA licensure accepted
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience within the last 3 years in MS/Tele/PCU/IMC required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skilled in telemetry management, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and dysrhythmia management
• Experience with cardiac drips (nitro, Cardizem, amiodarone) required
• Proficient in non-invasive airway management, O2 protocol, and peripheral line care
• Rapid response team activation experience required
• Isolation precaution/PPE knowledge required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• No first-time travelers accepted

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care within a float pool supporting adult inpatient units including ED, ICU, inpatient rehab, and adult care units
• Float assignments may include a sister hospital located about 15 minutes away
• Team is composed of highly flexible RNs experienced across multiple adult inpatient specialties
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Free parking provided
• RTO requests beyond 10 days require approval and must be finalized prior to consideration
• Block scheduling not accommodated
• Local candidates accepted
• Former permanent employees must wait six months after termination before applying to travel positions within the health system
• Charge nurse experience and community hospital background preferred
