Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a night shift position requiring at least 2 years of recent experience, ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications, and prior travel assignment experience.

Details

  • Emergency Department combining adult and pediatric patient populations
  • Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
  • 13-week assignment with 36 or 48 hours per week
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • On-call required every other weekend and holiday rotation as necessary
  • Cerner charting system experience preferred

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Compact or MD) required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent ER experience within the last 7 years
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS
  • Preferred certifications: CPI, MAB, and TNCC
  • Required skills: Charge and Triage, IV starts, and phlebotomy
  • Central line care/management and continuous IV sedation experience
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management
  • Prior charge and preceptor experience preferred
  • At least one previous travel assignment required
  • Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with 80% overall and 100% on lethal rhythms

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency nursing care across a combined adult and pediatric population
  • Clinicians will be trained on the unit before being expected to work in a charge capacity
  • Scrubs are not provided; navy blue scrub color required
  • Accepts local candidates within 60 miles at a lower rate
  • Radius rule of 60 miles determines local versus travel rate eligibility
  • Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a travel nurse
  • RTO of no more than 7 days per 13-week contract, with no time off permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
