Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 14-week night shift assignment requiring a GA or Compact RN license and at least 1 year of experience.
Details
- Med/Surg unit caring for general medical-surgical, orthopedic, GYN, bariatric, and remote telemetry patients
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (18:45-7:15)
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
Requirements
- Active GA or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience required
- Epic charting system experience preferred
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Skills in GI care, bariatric surgery, feeding tube management, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and remote telemetry monitoring
- Experience with wound care/wound vac, isolation precautions/PPE, and rapid response/code team protocols preferred
- Respiratory care skills including nasal cannula, oral suctioning, oxygen administration, and oxygen tank use
- Orthopedic experience including ortho trauma and total joint replacement care
- IV therapy, phlebotomy, PICC line management, and PCA medication administration experience
- Two supervisory references (Manager level or above) highly preferred
Additional Information
- First time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
- Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, which must be finalized at time of submission
- No RTO can be requested during orientation week or after offer/onsite
- Former Piedmont perm, per diem, or FCSS employees must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
- Shift and schedule as listed are firm with no alternate shift or schedule requests permitted
