Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring an active NY license and prior ICU experience with critical care skills.

Details

  • Work in the Medical/Surgical ICU, including burn and thermoregulation cases
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
  • Patient ratio of 1:2-3
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating required
  • Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

  • Active NY RN license required in hand
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
  • Previous charge nurse experience highly preferred
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central and PICC line care
  • Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, and managing continuous IV sedation and paralytics
  • Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and 12-lead EKG acquisition
  • Experience with IV insulin protocols and infection prevention/isolation precautions

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing services to medical and surgical ICU patients, including burn and thermoregulation cases
  • Administer emergency medications and manage procedural sedation as needed
  • Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate
  • First-time travelers may be considered
  • Candidates with more than 10 days of requested time off will not be considered
  • Previous employees may only return after a 6-month system-wide separation period
