Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring an active NY license and prior ICU experience with critical care skills.
Details
- Work in the Medical/Surgical ICU, including burn and thermoregulation cases
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Patient ratio of 1:2-3
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active NY RN license required in hand
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Previous charge nurse experience highly preferred
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central and PICC line care
- Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, and managing continuous IV sedation and paralytics
- Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and 12-lead EKG acquisition
- Experience with IV insulin protocols and infection prevention/isolation precautions
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing services to medical and surgical ICU patients, including burn and thermoregulation cases
- Administer emergency medications and manage procedural sedation as needed
- Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate
- First-time travelers may be considered
- Candidates with more than 10 days of requested time off will not be considered
- Previous employees may only return after a 6-month system-wide separation period
