Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring an active NY RN license and EPIC EMR experience.

Details

• Emergency Department setting, general adult/pediatric combined ED at a teaching hospital
• Trauma suite, dedicated pediatric ED, and discreet crisis intervention unit
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7p-7a
• Every other weekend requirement
• Every other holiday requirement, if needed
• 1:5 patient ratio caring for adult and geriatric patients with all emergency-type diagnoses
• Uses Bair hugger, rapid infuser, and safe patient handling equipment
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Floating required within skillset
• 13-week contract length

Requirements

• Active New York Single State RN license required in hand (NY is not part of the Nurse Licensure Compact)
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; PALS and TNCC preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy including blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with IV vasopressors, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilator management
• Experience managing CVA, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and TBI patients
• Cardiac monitoring skills including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with emergency care including gunshot wounds and ortho trauma
• Skilled in isolation precautions and triage
• Experience with pediatric spinal cord injury cases

• Candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted for this RN position
• Facility may cancel up to three shifts during the 13-week contract without incurring charges
• Previous staff must have completed assignment more than 6 months ago to be eligible for rehire
