Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a 13-week night/evening rotation requiring an active NY RN license and prior ED trauma experience.

Details

• Adult and geriatric ED unit treating all emergency-type diagnoses
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Rotating shifts: nights (7p-7a) alternating with evenings (3p-3a), 3x12-hour shifts
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required, if needed
• Floating required within skillset
• Uses Epic EMR
• Utilizes specialized equipment including Bair hugger, rapid infuser, and safe patient handling equipment
• Facility may cancel up to 3 shifts during the 13-week contract without charge

Requirements

• Active New York Single State RN license required (pending licenses not accepted, NY is not a compact state)
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• 1 year of ED experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy including blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and IV vasopressors
• Experience with CPAP/BiPAP and ventilator management
• Experience with CVA/stroke, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and TBI patients
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with emergency care for adult and pediatric patients, including gunshot wounds and ortho trauma
• Experience with isolation precautions, triage, and pediatric spinal cord injury care
• Epic EMR experience preferred

• State-of-the-art ED featuring a centralized layout, advanced diagnostic technology, dedicated pediatric ED, discreet crisis intervention unit, and a trauma suite near the ambulance entrance
• Affiliated with Cleveland Clinic and Roswell Park
• Scrub color requirement: any combination of navy blue and white
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• RNs must live outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be considered; local candidates are not accepted for RN positions
