Description
American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a night shift assignment requiring ARRT (CT) registry and Oregon state licensure, working with a diverse patient population from infants to geriatric patients.
Details
- Department of Diagnostic Imaging setting performing multi-detector CT scanning for medical diagnosis
- Works with infant, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patient populations
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, Friday-Sunday from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Siemens and Philips scanner experience preferred
- Potential to float to a nearby affiliate hospital as needed
- Uses Epic for charting
Requirements
- Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology training program
- Minimum of 2 years of CT Technologist experience required
- ARRT (CT) registry required; candidates without ARRT (CT) must hold ARRT (R), ARRT (N), NMTCB certification, or ARRT (RT) with documented CT clinical experience and must obtain ARRT (CT) certification within 6 months of hire
- Current BLS/CPR certification required
- License required if applicable
- Proficient in IV/angio-cath starts and administration of contrast media via power injection
- Demonstrated knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and pathology through scan techniques, reconstructions, and 3D post-processing
- Epic EMR experience required
- Proof of COVID vaccination required with no exemptions accepted
Additional Information
- Operate multi-slice CT scanners with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and radiation safety per ALARA principles
- Prepare and instruct patients for diagnostic exams using age-appropriate communication
- Verify imaging orders and protocols in the patient's electronic medical record and ensure accurate documentation and billing
- Prescreen patients for sensitivity and contraindications to contrast media
- Collaborate with scheduling staff and assist with patient transport as needed
- Participate in clinical research studies and teach technical/clinical skills to radiology students and residents
- Maintain clean equipment and work areas and perform quality control on diagnostic equipment
- First-time travelers may be considered depending on position details
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no mileage radius restriction
- Refusal to float as requested may result in contract cancellation
- Requested time off must be submitted with application and limited to no more than 2 weeks
- Former OHSU employees or travelers must have a 6-month gap before returning as a traveler
