Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2 years of telemetry experience and a PA or compact RN license.

Details

• Med/Surg Telemetry unit setting
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5
• Floating required between two units based on facility needs
• No on-call requirements
• Every other weekend required
• No block scheduling accommodated
• Epic charting system used

Requirements

• Active RN license (PA state license or compact) required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
• Experience with IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management required
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, tracheostomy care, and oxygen administration required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• BSN preferred, ASN accepted
• PA fingerprints (Childline and FP clearance within 12 months) required
• Valid references and copies of certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide bedside care for Med/Surg Telemetry patients including cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• Perform wound care, insulin drip titration, and management of cardiac drips
• Care for patients with pacemakers, post-MI, and pre/post cardiac catheterization needs
• Manage isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Navy blue scrub color required
• Holiday coverage required for one summer and one winter holiday
• RTO must be submitted prior to consideration and no additional time off accepted afterward
• First-time travelers accepted
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at a differentiated rate
• Local rate differential applies for candidates within the radius
