Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position requiring PA or compact RN licensure and 2 years of telemetry experience.
Details
- Med/Surg Tele unit within a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
- Every 3rd weekend required
- Floating required between two units based on need
- No on-call responsibilities
- Uses EPIC charting system
Requirements
- Active PA or compact RN license required
- BLS certification required
- 2 years of Med/Surg Tele experience required
- Telemetry monitoring experience required
- BSN preferred, ASN accepted
Additional Information
- Holiday coverage required for 1 summer and 1 winter holiday
- Navy blue scrubs required
- First-time travelers welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at a different rate
- RTO must be submitted upfront

Pros
Some of the nurses in the MICU are some of the best people I have ever met. Very high acuity patients but I learned a lot. Amazing teamwork and camaraderie
Cons
The facility is literally falling apart and staffing is terrible sometimes. Management is not as great and supportive as it used to be. Patient population can be difficult to work with (lots of ETOH, withdrawal, ODs, etc)
