Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery Operating Room position requiring prior L&D OR experience and current Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification.
Details
- Hospital-based Labor and Delivery unit caring for laboring, delivering, and postpartum patients, including high-risk antepartum and postpartum cases
- Unit consists of a 3-bay OBED, 20 labor rooms, 3 ORs, and 3 PACU bays
- Travelers will function in OBED, L&D, and OB PACU but will not circulate OR cases
- Night shift schedule from 7:00pm to 7:00am
- Works 12-hour shifts, 4 days per week
- Every other weekend (EOW) required
- Every other holiday (EOH) required
- No on-call requirements
- Free parking available
Requirements
- Active RN license valid in North Carolina (NC or compact)
- Current BLS (AHA or ARC)
- Current ACLS (AHA or ARC)
- Current NRP certification
- Current and active Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification through AWHONN or GE required
- Minimum one year of nursing experience required
- Previous Labor & Delivery operating room experience required
- Must be able to circulate for C-sections
- Must be able to triage for OB patients
- Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school required
- BSN or MSN preferred

- Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards in coordination with the interdisciplinary care team
- Responsible for patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation utilizing the nursing process
- Participates in unit goal setting and performance improvement activities
- Promotes a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment for patients and staff
