Description
American Traveler is hiring an MFM Sonographer for a high-risk OB ultrasound unit, requiring at least 1 year of MFM experience and 3+ years of sonography experience.
Details
- Busy high-risk OB ultrasound unit with 6 scanning rooms and one coordinator
- Utilizes a Samsung Hera Z20 ultrasound machine
- Anatomy scans scheduled for 45 minutes (90 minutes for twins)
- Follow up/NT early anatomy exams scheduled for 30 minutes (60 minutes for twins)
- 13-week assignment with an 08:00-04:30 shift
- Abnormal results communicated to providers promptly with bedside consults performed as needed
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of sonography experience with at least 1 year of MFM-specific experience
- Current BLS certification (AHA preferred, Red Cross accepted at select locations)
- License required if applicable
- Active MA license required at time of consideration; conditional or pending licenses not accepted
- Epic EMR charting experience required
- Proficient in performing first, second, and third trimester obstetric ultrasounds including NT scans, anatomy surveys, growth and BPP assessments, multiple gestations, cervical length, placental evaluation, and Doppler studies
- Ability to evaluate complex maternal and fetal conditions and identify abnormal findings
- Skilled in supporting fetal therapy and invasive procedures (amniocentesis, CVS, PUBS) without performing guidance
- Strong documentation skills including accurate measurements and PACS/EMR data entry
- Flu vaccination required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed
Additional Information
- Provide compassionate, sensitive care to patients facing high-risk pregnancies while explaining procedures within scope of practice
- Collaborate closely with MFM physicians, radiologists, nurses, genetic counselors, and support staff in multidisciplinary care coordination
- Ensure studies meet AIUM/ACR accreditation standards
- Local candidates accepted if permanent residence is within 60 miles of the facility, at a reduced rate
- Timekeeping conducted via UKG/Kronos system
