Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring AWHONN or C-EFM certification and NRP for a night shift assignment.

Details

• Labor & Delivery unit with 17 inpatient beds and 2 triage beds
• Patient ratio of 1:1-2
• Secretary support on dayshift only, no techs available
• Uses Monica Novii, ambulatory telemetry monitors, and GE EFM equipment
• Documentation via Meditech and Centricity systems
• Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Three 12-hour shifts per week with 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• Ready for huddle at 6:45
• Floats to Mother/Baby and Postpartum units as needed
• Facility open to block scheduling

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
• AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring or C-EFM certification required
• Prior Labor and Delivery experience with fetal strip interpretation skills
• Knowledge of common OB medications and obstetrical complications and treatments
• Experience with IV insertion, lab draws, and blood administration
• Familiarity with JADA and BAKRI devices and nitrous administration
• Experience with vaginal exams and setting up delivery tables for vaginal deliveries
• Circulator experience in C-section procedures
• PACU recovery experience for spinal anesthesia
• Antepartum triage experience
• Experience assisting with epidural placement
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for Labor and Delivery patients including vaginal deliveries, C-sections, ECV, and assisted deliveries with vacuum or forceps
• Assist with epidural placement and support anesthesia procedures
• Collaborate with a team approach to patient care
• Uphold AIDET, courtesy, and respect standards for patient experience
• Hospital-provided scrubs required, worn only within the facility
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, no local candidates accepted
• One professional reference required for consideration
