Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Stepdown Unit (CSU) night shift position requiring active VA or compact RN license and cardiac monitoring skills.

Details

• Cardiac Stepdown Unit (CSU) with 18 beds and a total staff of 38
• Patient ratio of 4:1
• Utilizes central lines, PCA, foley catheters, chest tubes, pacer wires, telemetry, and drains
• Uses Meditech EMR
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required with overtime available
• Floating required to Tele and Med Surg units

Requirements

• Active RN license (Virginia or Compact) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Must be able to read cardiac monitors
• Must be able to administer narcotics
• Stepdown and cardiac care experience preferred
• Experience with cardiac drips such as Cardizem, amiodarone, heparin, and nitro preferred
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Care for post-surgical cardiac patients including CABG, valve replacement, TAVR, Mitral clip, thoracotomy, Afib, CHF, and MI cases
• Perform vital signs and assessments every 4 hours
• Perform rhythm interpretation every 4 hours
• Team-oriented environment valuing critical thinking, kindness, and compassion
• All navy scrub attire required
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
