Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Cardiovascular ICU RN with dedicated Open-Heart Unit experience for a hospital assignment requiring proficiency with ECMO, IABP, and CRRT.
Details
- 18-bed Cardiovascular Surgical ICU (CVSICU) providing care for patients recovering from cardiac surgery, cardiac transplantation, lung transplantation, and VAD placement
- Patients received directly from the OR post-cardiac surgery
- Nurse/patient ratio of 1:1 or 1:2
- Rotating 7A/7P shift schedule or straight PM shift available
- 13-week assignment length
Requirements
- Active RN license (MD or Compact) currently in hand
- BLS certification required
- Current experience recovering post-op cardiac surgery patients in an ICU setting required
- Hands-on experience with Vent, CRRT, Swan, epicardial wires/pacemakers, vasoactive gtt titration, Level 1 IABP, and ECMO required
- Experience in a dedicated Open-Heart Unit required
- Prior experience in a comparable large facility (500+ bed count) required
- ACLS certification preferred
- Critical Care Certification preferred
- Trauma course completion preferred
- Epic EMR experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to complex cardiovascular surgical and transplant patients
- Strong candidates only will be considered given the high acuity and prestige of this unit
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- First-time travelers may be considered if they meet the strong experience requirements for this specialty unit
