Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Trauma Level 2+ experience and EPIC charting proficiency.
Details
- Emergency Department setting within a hospital
- Day shift schedule: 11:00AM-11:30PM
- 36 hours per week across 3 shifts per week
- Call requirement: 2 call shifts per 6-week schedule period, 13-hour shifts, must be onsite within an hour of call
- 2-week nights rotation required for all travelers
- No block scheduling available
- Every other weekend shift required
- Rotating holiday shift coverage required
- EPIC EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN license in good standing required
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA) required
- Minimum three years of relevant nursing experience required
- ASN required; BSN preferred
- Trauma Level 2 or higher experience preferred
- TNCC certification highly preferred
- EPIC charting experience required
Additional Information
- Serves as primary caregiver for a designated group of ED patients, applying the nursing process and current clinical standards
- Performs initial patient assessments and develops individualized plans of care in collaboration with providers, patients, and families
- Implements and modifies care plans based on ongoing patient assessment and evolving needs
- Maintains accurate, up-to-date documentation to support care coordination across the healthcare team
- Promotes patient and staff safety by identifying, reporting, and correcting hazards
- Collaborates and communicates effectively with colleagues, patients, and families to foster a supportive care environment
- Contributes to peer professional development through constructive feedback
- Classified as a high-risk department assignment
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted
- RTO may not exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
