Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Nursing Resource Team Float Pool position covering ICU, PCU, Med Surg, and ER at a Level II trauma facility, requiring 2 years of recent ICU experience.

Details

• Float pool position within the Nursing Resource Team (NRT), supporting ICU, PCU, Med Surg, and ER service lines
• Acute care setting within a Level II trauma facility
• Units range from 21-35 beds depending on assignment
• Nurse-to-patient ratios vary by unit: ICU 1:1-2, Med/Surg 1:5-6, PCU 1:3-4
• Uses EPIC EMR
• 12-hour night shifts with a consistent work schedule, though unit assignment is communicated 2 hours prior to shift
• May spend the majority of time in Med Surg but must be willing and able to float to ER, PCU, and ICU as needed
• Mid-shift floating may be required
• 36 guaranteed hours per week outside of orientation
• 12 hours of non-billable orientation required

Requirements

• Active State of Idaho or compact RN license required
• BLS, ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS certifications required
• Graduate of a nationally accredited nursing program (ASN or BSN accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience within the last 2 years at a Level I or Level II trauma facility required
• Prior experience working in or floating to PCU and Med Surg with comfort in those ratios required
• Prior experience working in or floating to ER with experience taking a patient assignment required
• Experience with cardiac drips required
• Experience with non-invasive ventilation required
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• Department of Health & Welfare background fingerprinting required

• Delivers relationship-based, patient-centered care across ICU, PCU, Med Surg, and ER units
• Cares for ED pod, boarded, and true ER patient assignments as needed
• Collaborates within interprofessional teams to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care
• Integrates evidence-based practice and uses clinical data to support decision-making and improve outcomes
• Does not accept local candidates and enforces a 50-mile radius restriction
• Facility reserves the right to cancel up to one shift every 30 days without penalty
