Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Stepdown/Med-Surg night shift position requiring stepdown experience and a WV or compact RN license.

Details

• Acute care setting on a 20-bed Stepdown/Med Surg unit
• Stepdown ratio of 1:3 and floor ratio of 1:5-6
• Common diagnoses include respiratory issues, weakness, UTI, AKI, and chest pain
• RNs required to titrate drips including Heparin, insulin, Cardizem, and amiodarone
• Unit is monitored with telemetry and staffed by monitor techs
• RT equipment used includes CPAP, BiPap, and high flow
• Nursing aides on staff at a ratio of 2 per shift
• Charting completed in EPIC
• Night shift schedule, 3 shifts per week, 1900-0730, rotating Friday/Saturday/Sunday or Saturday/Sunday/Monday
• Weekend requirement of 3 shifts per 4-week schedule
• Holiday coverage required on a rotating basis for evening or day shifts
• No call or standby requirement
• No floating required

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA) required
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience required
• Stepdown unit experience required
• Copy of unexpired driver's license required for consideration
• Any licensing history issues must be disclosed at time of consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a Stepdown/Med Surg unit under supervision of a House Supervisor
• Unit/department specific orientation provided
• Royal blue scrub color required per facility dress code
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Travelers who previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before reapplying
• Travelers may not work within WVU facilities for longer than a cumulative year without taking a 2-year break
