Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2 years of ED experience and NM or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Level III trauma center emergency department with 48 beds plus flex space
- Patient ratios of 4:1 in Main ED and 6:1 in Fast Track
- Patient population includes ESRD, cirrhosis, COPD, and psychiatric patients
- Common diagnoses include ESRD, substance abuse disorders, psychological disorders, COPD, CHF, abdominal pain, and chest pain
- Uses Zoll Defibrillator, Level One Blood Transfuser, QinFlow Blood Warmer, Hospira Plum360, Freestyle and iStat POC, and Ultrasound Guided IV equipment
- Cerner EHR system
- Night shift, 7P-7A
- 36 weekly guaranteed hours
- Minimum of two weekends per schedule
- No call requirements
- No floating requirements
- Team nursing and pod system with a dedicated social worker and unit educator
Requirements
- Active RN license (New Mexico or Compact) required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC (must be AHA-issued)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with 2 years of Emergency Department experience preferred
- RN ADN education required
- Must have skills in trauma, stroke, STEMI, sepsis, and moderate sedation care
- Charge nurse experience required
Additional Information
- Provide emergency care across a wide range of trauma, medical, and psychiatric cases
- Facility serves as a regional trauma center for the Four Corners area of New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Utah
- Various Trauma Level I, II, and III cases may be flown in due to facility location
- Work alongside a dedicated social worker and unit educator within a team nursing and pod system
