Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN - Operating Room for a hospital surgical setting requiring 2+ years of OR experience and multiple specialty competencies.

Details

• Hospital OR department with 10 operating rooms and an endoscopy suite
• 4x10 day shift schedule, weekdays
• On-call required: approximately every 6-8 weeks for weekend call (Saturday 7am to Monday 7am)
• On-call required: one weeknight per week from 7pm-7a
• Documents surgical care in EMR

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or compact) required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum two years of RN experience in a surgical/OR setting required
• Experience required in orthopedics, total joints, spine, urology, endoscopy, general surgery, gynecology, vascular, and robotics
• Eye case experience preferred but not required

Additional Information

• Coordinate and deliver patient care using the nursing process under direction of a physician
• Develop and implement plans of care for surgical patients in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Perform surgical instrument and supply counts, and assist with patient positioning to prevent injury
• Ensure proper patient identification, site marking, and surgical consent
• Collect, label, and coordinate delivery of specimens for testing
• Promote a safe, clean environment using standard precautions and infection control principles
• Communicate with patients and families to support care planning and continuity
