Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2 years of L&D experience and 2 years of travel experience.
Details
- Hospital-based Labor & Delivery unit
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours)
- Provides nursing care to patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
- Administers medication and initiates, regulates, and monitors IV infusions and blood products
- Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
- Delegates tasks to support staff as needed
Requirements
- Active RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
- Minimum of 2 years of L&D experience and 2 years of travel nursing experience required
- Associate's Degree from an accredited school of nursing required; BSN or MSN preferred
- BLS and ACLS certification (American Heart Association only)
- Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certificate required
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Advanced Provider or NRP Instructor certification required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
Additional Information
- Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients and documents nursing interventions and treatment responses
- Monitors physiological data and intervenes as needed based on patient condition
- Communicates care plans with patients and families throughout hospitalization and at discharge
- Makes appropriate referrals for patient care needs
- Must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
- Facility enforces strict compliance deadlines; onboarding requirements must be completed promptly to avoid delays in start date
- Returning workers may only extend a contract once for a total of 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
