Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab/EP Technologist for a STEMI and stroke receiving center, requiring at least 1 year of acute care Cath Lab experience and ARRT or RCIS certification.
Details
- Acute care hospital serving as a STEMI and stroke receiving center with 4 labs
- Supports cardiac, EP, VTE thrombectomy, interventional neuro, and interventional radiology procedures
- Procedures include TAVR/TMVR, Watchman, Mitraclip, diagnostic and interventional cardiology, diagnostic and interventional neuro, and IR
- Day shift schedule of 4x10 hours from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- On-call required weekdays 1730-0700 and weekends/holidays 0700-0700, with 10-14 call shifts within a 42-day schedule
- Call requirements Monday through Friday plus weekend/holiday call
- Must be willing to float between specialties within the lab
- Epic EMR used
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year acute care experience in Cath Lab required
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- ARRT (R) certification required; RCIS or CCI RCIS accepted in lieu of ARRT Advanced Cert
- Fluoroscopy Permit required
- Compact or state license required in hand at time of submission (license required if applicable)
- Community hospital experience required
- Stroke or interventional radiology experience preferred; EP/structural heart experience not required
- Skills include EKG lead placement, access site prep, room circulation, and maintaining sterile field
- Experience with hemodynamic monitoring, left/right heart catheterization, PCI, PTCA, and temporary pacemaker placement preferred
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Perform procedural responsibilities including equipment setup, accurate monitoring, and sterile field maintenance
- May circulate and scrub for diagnostic and interventional cardiac, EP, and neuro procedures
- Scrubs provided for Cath Lab staff
- First-time travelers accepted
- RTO requests must be submitted at time of application; minimal flexibility for post-submission changes
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
- Former permanent staff may return as travelers after 3 months if located outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
- Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities within the region
- Background checks with Nursys or BG hits are not accepted by this facility
