Description
American Traveler is hiring a Medical Oncology RN with 1+ year of oncology experience and required ONC certification for a 13-week travel assignment.
Details
- Medical Oncology unit with 41 beds
- Day shift 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM with Tuesday starts
- Patient ratios of 4:1 up to 5:1 maximum
- Uses Baxter pumps and Meditech EMR
- Rotating weekend and on-call requirements
- Team-centered care approach
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- ONC (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification required for all RNs working in Oncology
- Minimum 1 year of recent Medical Oncology experience required
- Strong understanding of sterile dressing changes and infection prevention required
- Solid understanding of blood and electrolyte replacement protocols required
- Familiarity with ports and central lines preferred
- General medical oncology understanding preferred
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

- Perform daily blood and electrolyte replacement and sterile dressing changes
- Scrub color is royal blue, monogrammed with hospital name; hospital-approved jackets permitted
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
