Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring high-risk obstetrical experience and AWHONN fetal monitoring certification.

Details

  • High-risk obstetrical unit within a Women's Hospital, Labor and Delivery department
  • 24-bed unit with patient ratios of 2:1 and 3:1, including OBED triage
  • Night shift schedule, three 12-hour shifts per week, 7p-7a
  • Weekend work required
  • Floating required as needed, including to the antepartum unit within Women's Services
  • Uses GE fetal monitors
  • Documentation completed in Meditech and CPN

Requirements

  • Active RN license (TX or compact)
  • BLS certification required
  • Intermediate or Advanced AWHONN or NCCEFM fetal monitoring certification required
  • NRP Advanced 9th Edition certification required
  • At least 2 years of high-risk labor and delivery nursing experience required
  • Experience with high-risk obstetrical bedside care, circulating in c-sections, and recovering high-acuity patients required
  • No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
  • US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
  • One professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide bedside care for high-risk obstetrical patients, including vaginal deliveries, c-sections, D&C, and post-delivery recovery care
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered
  • First-time travelers may be considered
  • Scrub color requirements apply per unit dress code
  • Clean and healthy nail policy required, no artificial nails, gel, or similar enhancements
  • Hair must be neat, clean, and free of extreme styles or colors; must be pulled back if shoulder-length or longer
  • Facial hair must be clean and neatly trimmed
  • Body art should be covered whenever possible
  • Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited
  • Standard company attendance policy applies
