Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a MICU position requiring 2+ years of ICU experience and rotating weekend night shifts.
Details
- Work in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) of a hospital setting
- Patient assignments made according to acuity and skill level
- Utilizes ICU equipment including ventilators, NXStage, Arctic Sun, and GE Cardiac Output monitors
- Performs procedures such as central line placements, thoracentesis, dialysis catheter placements, cardioversions, and intubations
- Uses Meditech documentation system
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Rotating weekend shifts required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required as needed
Requirements
- Active RN license (TX or Compact) required - temporary license not accepted
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- CCRN certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of MICU/MSICU experience required
- Meditech experience preferred
- NIH Stroke Certification required for MICU placement
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to medically complex ICU patients
- Royal blue scrubs required for RNs
- Professional grooming standards apply including restrictions on artificial nails, extreme hairstyles, visible piercings other than ears, and visible tattoos
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility - local candidates not accepted
- No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months
