Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a MICU position requiring 2+ years of ICU experience and rotating weekend night shifts.

Details

• Work in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) of a hospital setting
• Patient assignments made according to acuity and skill level
• Utilizes ICU equipment including ventilators, NXStage, Arctic Sun, and GE Cardiac Output monitors
• Performs procedures such as central line placements, thoracentesis, dialysis catheter placements, cardioversions, and intubations
• Uses Meditech documentation system
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Rotating weekend shifts required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required as needed

Requirements

• Active RN license (TX or Compact) required - temporary license not accepted
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• CCRN certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of MICU/MSICU experience required
• Meditech experience preferred
• NIH Stroke Certification required for MICU placement

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to medically complex ICU patients
• Royal blue scrubs required for RNs
• Professional grooming standards apply including restrictions on artificial nails, extreme hairstyles, visible piercings other than ears, and visible tattoos
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility - local candidates not accepted
• No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months
