Description
American Traveler is hiring a NICU RN for a Level III unit requiring 2+ years of NICU experience and NJ or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Level III NICU providing neurologic care for neonatal abstinence syndrome and treating neonates 29-34 weeks and >34 weeks
- Patient ratios of 1:1-3, with 1:4 in the IMCU
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00pm-7:30am)
- Every other weekend (Sat/Sun) required, subject to change based on need
- Must work 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 holidays per unit needs
- Floating required to NBN, Peds, and PICU within skillset, with assignments based on patient volume and acuity
- Will not attend high-risk deliveries or be assigned Level IV, ECMO, or fresh post-op patients
- EPIC and Crib Notes charting systems used
Requirements
- Active NJ or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required; PALS preferred
- 2+ years of NICU experience required
- Experience administering blood products, starting/maintaining IVs, and neonatal dosage calculations required
- Medication management experience with anti-seizure drugs, antibiotics/antivirals, and steroids required
- Cardiovascular monitoring/telemetry experience required
- Experience with vents, intubated patients, HFNC, and oxygen delivery systems required
- Experience managing respiratory distress required
- Breastfeeding support, colostomy/ileostomy care, and enteral feeding/tube placement experience required
- Glucose monitoring, insulin administration, and phototherapy experience required
- Developmental care, patient/family teaching, infection control, and isolation precautions experience required
- Sepsis workup experience required
- EPIC charting experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive neonatal intensive care including cardiovascular, respiratory, and gastrointestinal support
- Deliver developmental care and patient/family education
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Former RWJBarnabas Health employees (full-time or PRN) must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
