Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift ICU position requiring 18 months of recent ICU experience and NBRC/RRT certification.

Details

• Hospital-based Respiratory Therapy/Neuro Diagnostics unit
• Night shift, 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts, 19:00-7:30
• Every other weekend work required
• Floating required between affiliate hospitals within the health system
• Cerner charting system preferred
• Provides care in adult critical care and pediatric settings

Requirements

• Active NBRC (RRT) certification
• IN state license or Compact license required, if applicable
• ACLS and BLS certification required; PALS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience with 18 months of recent ICU experience
• Education must be accredited through CoARC and regionally accredited through CHEA
• 2 supervisor references required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include ventilator management, arterial blood gas draws and interpretation, airway management, intubation/extubation assistance, and oxygen therapy
• Performs medication delivery via nebulizer and aerosol systems including Albuterol, Atrovent, and Xopenex
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Candidates must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• RTO of 5 days or less can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval
• Former perm or PRN employees of the health system must have a 12-month break before applying as a traveler
• Local candidates residing in-state are considered local, though local candidates are not accepted for ICU positions
• All travelers are required to float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate facility
