Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry/PCU night shift position requiring an active NY RN license and prior telemetry/stepdown experience.

Details

• PCU unit within an acute care teaching hospital
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7p-7a
• 8-week assignment length
• Patient ratios of 1:4-5 for adult and geriatric patients
• Patient population includes long-term pulmonary patients, ENT surgery, and other surgical stepdown-level cases
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required if needed
• Required to float within skillset
• EPIC charting experience required

Requirements

• Active NY Single State RN license required in hand (NY is not a compact state)
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Telemetry and stepdown-level care experience (PCU/DOU/IMC)
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
• Experience with nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management
• Experience managing cardiac drips (no titration) and administering blood products
• Central and peripheral line care/management experience
• IV therapy/phlebotomy and isolation precautions experience

• Located in a 528-bed Magnet-recognized acute care teaching facility certified as an Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center
• Facility offers specialized services including cardiac, cancer, neuroscience, and surgical oncology programs
• Scrub color requirement: any combination of navy blue and white

• Candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted for RN positions
• Local candidates accepted for LPN positions only
• Previous employees must have a 6-month system-wide break in service before returning
