Description
American Traveler is hiring a Medical ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring an active NY RN license and Epic EMR experience.
Details
- 16-bed Medical ICU treating sepsis, ARDS, renal failure, heart failure, pre-VAD workups, alcohol withdrawal, overdose, multi-organ failure, post cardiac arrest/targeted temperature management, respiratory failure/shock, and more
- Utilizes CRRT, EKOS, IABP, ECMO, and Impella technologies
- Patient ratio of 1:2 with occasional 1:1 based on acuity
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 1900-0700
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active NY RN license required in hand
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and emergency response
- Experience with arterial line and central line management
- Experience with continuous IV sedation, vasoactive drips, and neuromuscular blockade
- Experience caring for ventilated patients, including BiPAP/CPAP and ABG interpretation
- Experience with CVVHD/CRRT and renal failure management
- Experience with CVP monitoring and hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun preferred
- Experience with nurse-driven ECMO protocols and Swan Ganz monitoring preferred
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive critical care to medically complex ICU patients requiring advanced monitoring and life support interventions
- Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Returning staff must have a 6-month system-wide gap since previous employment
- Candidates with more than 10 days of requested RTO will not be considered
- Call-off policy allows for 3 shifts per 13-week assignment
