Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Stepdown/IMCU position requiring telemetry, medsurg, and critical care experience along with an active MA RN license.

Details

• Work on a 27-bed Medical IMCU unit caring for a mix of IMCU, neurology, and medsurg patients
• High volume of neurology, medicine, and cardiology patients including chronic vents, trachs, and high acuity heart failure cases
• Patient ratios average 1:3 for IMCU patients and 1:4 or 1:4-5 when caring for MedSurg patients
• Uses automated medication dispensing systems and telemetry rhythm strip monitoring
• 12-hour shifts on a flexible day/night rotation with every other weekend and every other holiday required

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of IMCU experience required
• 2+ years of recent medsurg and telemetry experience required
• Experience caring for patients with neuro care needs, MIs, and trachs required
• Must be able to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips
• Critical care experience preferred
• Ability to care for patients with complex medical needs
• 2 professional references required, with one at manager level or above including a performance evaluation completed within the last 12 months
• Valid, unexpired driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to a complex, high-acuity population including chronic vent and trach patients
• Complete a telemetry test on day 1 of assignment
• Pass the Relias Advanced Dysrhythmia Test as part of the qualification process
• Previous permanent staff at this facility are not eligible for consideration as travelers
• Candidates residing within a 50-mile radius of the facility are considered local
