Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Stepdown/IMCU position requiring telemetry, medsurg, and critical care experience along with an active MA RN license.
Details
- Work on a 27-bed Medical IMCU unit caring for a mix of IMCU, neurology, and medsurg patients
- High volume of neurology, medicine, and cardiology patients including chronic vents, trachs, and high acuity heart failure cases
- Patient ratios average 1:3 for IMCU patients and 1:4 or 1:4-5 when caring for MedSurg patients
- Uses automated medication dispensing systems and telemetry rhythm strip monitoring
- 12-hour shifts on a flexible day/night rotation with every other weekend and every other holiday required
Requirements
- Active MA RN license required
- Minimum 1 year of IMCU experience required
- 2+ years of recent medsurg and telemetry experience required
- Experience caring for patients with neuro care needs, MIs, and trachs required
- Must be able to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips
- Critical care experience preferred
- Ability to care for patients with complex medical needs
- 2 professional references required, with one at manager level or above including a performance evaluation completed within the last 12 months
- Valid, unexpired driver's license required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care to a complex, high-acuity population including chronic vent and trach patients
- Complete a telemetry test on day 1 of assignment
- Pass the Relias Advanced Dysrhythmia Test as part of the qualification process
- Previous permanent staff at this facility are not eligible for consideration as travelers
- Candidates residing within a 50-mile radius of the facility are considered local
