Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring at least 3 years of L&D experience and teaching hospital background at a high-volume birthing facility.

Details

  • Labor and Delivery unit at a teaching hospital with 200-300 births per month
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
  • Ability to circulate C-sections required
  • Care spans high-risk antepartum, L&D, LDRP, Level I Nursery, and Mother/Baby settings
  • Epic charting system required
  • Ability to float to other UCSF facilities within a 75+ mile radius when needed

Requirements

  • Active CA RN license required at time of consideration
  • BSN required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate
  • AWHONN Advanced certification preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of Labor and Delivery RN experience with at least 1 year recent experience
  • Post Partum experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience required and must be noted in employment history
  • Previous travel assignment experience required
  • Two references from most recent employer required for consideration
  • Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, maintaining central lines, use of infusion pumps, amnioinfusion, assisting with high risk and vaginal deliveries, forceps/vacuum extraction, hemorrhage/shock management, medication administration (antihypertensives, Pitocin, Terbutaline, Magnesium Sulfate), neonatal resuscitation and care, postpartum care procedures, and fetal monitoring (external and internal, including IUPC placement)

Additional Information

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care across labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care
  • Support high-risk deliveries, C-section circulation and recovery, and neonatal care in the delivery room
  • Deliver postpartum care including couplet care, hemorrhage management, and patient education
  • Assist with pain management modalities including epidural anesthesia and PCA
  • Any previous employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed with full employment history for rehire eligibility review
  • All RTO must be disclosed and approved by the manager at time of offer; no additional requests accepted mid-contract and RTO cannot fall within the first two weeks of the assignment
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates
