Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position requiring 1.5+ years of experience and active NJ licensure.
Details
- Adult and pediatric patient populations
- 13-week assignment on the Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics unit
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Every other weekend (Friday/Saturday) required
- Floats between PICU, Emergency Department, and Adult Critical Care based on skill set and hospital needs
- EPIC charting system used
Requirements
- Active New Jersey RT license required if applicable
- BLS and NBRC certification required
- Minimum 1.5 years of experience required
- PICU/NICU experience highly preferred
- ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications preferred (may be obtained onsite)
- Experience with Servo-I, Servo-U, and V60 BiPAP equipment
- Skilled in blood gas collection, ventilator initiation/management, BiPAP and high-flow therapy management
- Experience with airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and tracheostomy care
- Proficient in oxygen therapy delivery methods and nebulizer treatments
- Experience with ventilator weaning and troubleshooting
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include code response, in-house patient transport, medication administration, and chest physiotherapy
- Works across adult critical care and emergency department settings
- First-time travelers accepted
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Former employees of the health system must be separated for at least 1 year before returning as a travel clinician
- Requested time off must be submitted and approved prior to offer
