Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of experience with ortho background highly preferred.

Details

• Medical Surgical unit with an Ortho Med Surg focus, including total hips/knees and revisions, shoulders, spine, general surgery, and overflow med surg patients
• Adult to geriatric patient population
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within facility and to sister campus as needed
• Uses Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR systems

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience required
• No first-time travelers accepted
• Ortho experience highly preferred
• Two supervisory references (Manager level or above; charge nurse references not accepted) highly preferred
• Copies of required certifications needed for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to a surgical and ortho-focused Med/Surg population
• Locals accepted at the same rate
• Maximum RTO of 7 days, with RTO required at time of consideration
• No RTO permitted during the first week of assignment
• Holiday coverage required per facility policy: one or two major holidays must be worked with no RTO permitted, and if three major holidays fall within the assignment, one may be requested off
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Fixed shift schedule with no alternate shift or scheduling requests permitted
• Travel pairs cannot be scheduled on the same shift and unit
• Returning employees or travelers must have been away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year to be eligible to return
