Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVICU position at a Level 2 Trauma facility with a comprehensive stroke center and advanced cardiac/open heart program.
Details
- CVICU unit within a Level 2 Trauma facility with a comprehensive stroke center and advanced cardiac/open heart program
- Admits ICU and CVICU patients
- Night shift, 4x12 hours, 18:45-07:15
- 36 or 48 hour options available
- 1:2 patient ratio
Requirements
- Active RN license (State or Compact) in hand at time of consideration
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- PALS and TNCC certifications preferred
- 2 years of relevant experience required
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Trauma Level II and prior charge nurse experience preferred
- Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central and PICC line care, and blood product administration
- Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and respiratory failure care
- Cardiovascular skills including CVP monitoring, IABP, TAVR, sheath removal, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Experience managing CRRT/CVVHD and acute renal failure preferred
- Neurological care skills including CVA/stroke management and hypothermia protocol preferred
Additional Information
- Care for critically ill cardiovascular and ICU patients including post-cardiac surgery, pre/post cardiac catheterization, and multisystem organ dysfunction cases
- Perform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG interpretation
- First time travelers are welcome to apply
- No travel pairs or groups accepted
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
- Former staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
- No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
- Must complete core onboarding items and labs within 48 hours of contract signing
- Onboarding modules completed onsite during orientation
