Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring prior travel experience and 2+ years of CVICU nursing.
Details
- Magnet-designated teaching hospital with 637 staffed beds
- Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) setting caring for cardio-thoracic patients including heart and lung transplant cases
- 1:1 patient ratios
- Day shift (0700-1930) or Night shift (1900-0730), 3x12-hour schedules
- Weekend shifts required unless otherwise stated on posting
- Floating required within hospital to other ICU units, no floating to sister hospitals
- No on-call requirements
- Uses EPIC charting system
- Scrubs of any color permitted
Requirements
- Active WA state or compact RN license, pending license accepted
- Current BLS and ACLS certification required
- Must pass Relias EKG telemetry compliance test
- Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience required, open heart experience preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Experience with ventilators, IV starts, PA lines/Swan-Ganz monitoring required
- Experience with Impella, IABP, and LVAD/RVAD required
- Proficiency with pacers and post-op cardiac care required
- Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and cardiac emergency response
- Lung and heart transplant experience preferred
- EPIC charting experience preferred but not required
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to complex cardiovascular and cardiothoracic patients
- Perform continuous cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
- Prior UW Medical Center staff must have a separation period of 18 months before returning as a traveler
- RTO limited to 7 days in November/December, spanning no more than 1 holiday, and must work 2 of the 3 major holidays
- COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
