Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP position requiring 2+ years of cath lab experience and a GA or compact RN license.
Details
- Pre/Post care unit supporting Cath Lab and EP departments
- Day shift schedule, 4x10 hour shifts from 9:30 to 20:00
- Every other weekend required
- No formal call requirement, though some late days may occur
- Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
- 1:4 patient ratio
- Epic charting system experience preferred
Requirements
- Active RN license (GA or Compact) required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of cath lab experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required, unit does not accept first-time travelers
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia recognition/management, and 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition
- Experience with pre/post cath lab procedures, sheath pulls, and pre/post op patient care
- Familiarity with TR band, glucometer, and iStat equipment
- Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE protocols
Additional Information
- Provide pre and post procedural care for cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology patients
- Administer pre-op medications and monitor patients throughout the procedural process
- Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, must be finalized prior to submission
- No RTO permitted during orientation week
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
- Previous perm, per diem, or FCSS employees must be separated from all facilities within this health system for one full year before returning as a traveler
- Travelers who cancel or are marked DNR at one facility must complete a successful assignment elsewhere before reapplying
