Description
American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a stroke Progressive Care Unit position requiring telemetry and neuro/stroke experience.
Details
- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting specializing in stroke care
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Required to work 5-6 weekend shifts per 6-week period
- Possibility of floating to other PCUs or affiliate hospitals within the health system as needed
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active KY or compact RN license required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Progressive Care, Med/Surg Acute Care, or Telemetry required
- EKG interpretation experience required
- Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management and interpretation required
- Experience with neurological/psychiatric patient care including CVA, intracranial bleeds, post-TPA care, pre/post neurosurgery, seizure disorders, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
- ICU experience is a plus
- Neuro/stroke experience preferred
- Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays
Additional Information
- Provide progressive care nursing services to stroke and neurological patients requiring telemetry monitoring
- Expected to work 3 of 5 winter holidays
- Local candidates residing within 100 miles of the facility are not accepted
- Returning permanent staff must have been separated from all affiliated facilities for at least 6 months before returning as a traveler
- Any license history issues with this health system will disqualify candidates from consideration
