Description
American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a Medical Telemetry Oncology Unit requiring Trauma Level I/II experience and cardiac drip titration proficiency.
Details
- Medical Telemetry Oncology Unit within a hospital setting
- Patient population includes cardiac interventional cases such as TAVR, Mitral Clips, Watchman, Lead Extraction TR Bands, complex PCI Angiogram, dysrhythmias, and vascular procedures
- Also cares for hemodialysis, chemotherapy infusion, and pre-open heart patients
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Utilizes Nurse Telemetry Driven Protocol to assist with patient throughput
- Uses EPIC for charting
- Night shift, 3x12 hours, 18:45-7:15
- Floating within the hospital may be required based on patient care needs
- No block schedule requests accepted
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Chemo (ONS/ONCC) certification preferred
- Minimum 2-3 years of overall RN experience with at least 2 years of telemetry experience
- Proficiency in telemetry management, dysrhythmia interpretation, and cardiac drip titration required
- Trauma Level I and Trauma Level II experience required
- Community hospital experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- EPIC charting experience required
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Oncology experience a plus
- Experience with chemotherapy administration, port access/management, and biotherapy preferred
- Maximum of 5 days RTO permitted per assignment, disclosed at time of consideration
Additional Information
- Provide telemetry monitoring and care for cardiac interventional, hemodialysis, chemotherapy, and pre-open heart patients
- Manage and titrate cardiac drips and interpret dysrhythmias
- Support oncology patients with chemotherapy administration and management of related emergencies
- Required modules completed during orientation and signed off by facility managers
- Local travelers accepted at the same rate as non-local travelers
- Travel pairs accepted
- Former staff must be separated from the facility/system for at least 1 year before being considered for rehire as a traveler
