Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring at least one prior travel contract and a TX or compact RN license in hand.
Details
- Med/Surg Tele unit within a short-term acute care hospital with a Level II Trauma Center
- 1:5 patient ratio
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:00)
- Floating between units required
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience required
- At least one prior travel contract required (seasoned traveler)
- Epic charting system experience required
- Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, feeding tube care, and cardiac monitoring/dysrhythmia management
- Experience with telemetry monitoring and rapid response/code team protocols
- 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care to Med/Surg Tele patients including telemetry monitoring, IV therapy, and wound care
- May be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
- Dress code requires solid navy blue uniforms or scrubs for licensed nursing staff
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront prior to offer; post-offer RTO requests may not be granted
- Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
- Former permanent employees may return as travelers after a 3-month wait and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position given the seasoned traveler requirement
