Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring 4 years of OR experience across Neurology, Transplant, General Surgery, GYN, and Orthopedic service lines.
Details
- Operating Room unit supporting multiple service lines including Bariatrics, Urology, Neurology, ENT, Oral, Plastics, Transplant, Ophthalmology, General Surgery, GYN, and Orthopedics
- Day shift schedule, 4x10 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Weekend and call requirements are variable and discussed during interview
- Floating required within facility scope of practice and to Outpatient as needed
- Epic charting system used
Requirements
- Active RN license (GA or Compact) required at time of submission
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 4 years of Operating Room experience required prior to travel
- Required experience in Neurology, Transplant, General Surgery, GYN, and Orthopedic surgical procedures
- Specific skills required include ALIF, craniotomy, kyphoplasty, laminectomy/discectomy, lumbar fusion, XLIF, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, thyroidectomy, Whipple procedure, arthroscopy, open/closed reduction of fractures, total joint replacement, hysterectomy, colporrhaphy, tubal ligation, D&C, and laparoscopic gynecological procedures
- Transplant experience required including intestinal, kidney, liver, organ donation, and pancreas cases
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Previous travel experience required
- Unit does not accept first-time travelers
Additional Information
- Perform surgical nursing duties across multiple specialty service lines in a fast-paced OR environment
- No holiday RTO can be requested if 1-2 major holidays occur during the assignment; only 1 holiday RTO may be considered if 3 holidays occur
- Blackout dates apply for RTO requests: 11/23-11/29 and 12/21-1/3
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, and all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
- No RTO or schedule change requests permitted after offer or during orientation week
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Full compliance required prior to start date to avoid a two-week delay due to biweekly orientation scheduling
- Previous perm, per diem, or FCSS staff must be away from all facilities within the health system for one full year before returning as a traveler
- Travelers previously cancelled or not approved for return at a facility must complete one assignment outside the health system before reapplying
