Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring EPIC experience and 2 years of Med/Surg Tele nursing background.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes cardiac, stroke, post-op open heart surgery, peritoneal dialysis, respiratory, and joint replacement cases
• Patient ratio of 1:5/6
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00pm-7:30am
• Weekend requirement of every other weekend
• Holiday coverage as needed
• Floating required to all Med/Surg floors, potentially to rehab, and possibly to OB as helping hands
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active RN license (Compact or PA state license required)
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Tele nursing experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, blood product administration, respiratory care (BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ABG interpretation, tracheostomy care), cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management, wound care, and IV insulin protocols

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care across Med/Surg Tele and related specialty units including cardiac, stroke, renal, and orthopedic populations
• Work closely with CHF and Stroke Program Coordinators for patient education support on select units
• May care for COVID-positive patients
• Facility is tobacco and fragrance free
• Travelers receive 1 day of orientation before being expected to take full assignments
• Maximum RTO of 7 days
• Local candidates within a 50-mile radius may be considered at a reduced rate
• First-time travelers are not preferred for this role
