Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a Level 1 trauma adult acute care unit requiring 2+ years of recent respiratory therapy experience and ICU experience in a 300+ bed facility.

Details

• Acute care setting at a Level 1 trauma center
• Adult respiratory therapy unit with potential rotation opportunities in Adult/NICU or Adult/PICU
• Facility includes Adult ICU, intermediate ICU, general floor, ER, NICU, Peds ICU, Peds, and Family Birth Center units
• Uses Epic EMR
• Rotating day/night 12-hour shifts, primarily 12-hour with some 8-hour shifts
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• May float to other campus locations (Broadway or South University) as needed
• Team-based shifts with charge therapist and multiple RTs per shift depending on campus
• Uses equipment including Hamilton G5 & C1 ventilators, V60, Airvo, Philips CoughAssist, Synclara Cough Device, Volara, Vest, ResMed AutoPAPs, Radiometer ABL90 Flex, Aerogen, Nitric Oxide, 3100B HFOV, B Braun Syringe Pump, and patient home ventilators (Trilogy, Astral, Vivo)

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent respiratory therapy experience required
• Level 1 trauma and ICU experience required; ER experience preferred
• Experience in a facility with 300+ beds required
• RRT certification via NBRC preferred; CRT considered
• BLS (AHA) required
• ACLS (AHA) and PALS (AHA) preferred
• ND state license required, or willingness to apply within 72 hours of offer acceptance
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Perform respiratory therapy assessments and protocols, arterial punctures, and blood gas analysis
• Manage ventilator and NIV therapy, medication delivery, and airway clearance
• Assist with intubations, extubations, bedside trach placement, tracheostomy changes, and decannulation
• Assist with bedside bronchoscopy and participate in emergency response teams and ICU rounds
• Support patient intrahospital transport
• Complete lab orientation with RT education staff and preceptor shifts with unit RTs
• Work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills required for coordination with the healthcare team
• Badge in and out required at facility

• Local candidates may be considered at a reduced rate for those within 80 miles of the facility
• Candidates with prior Sanford Health employment must have an end date at least 6 months prior to submission
