Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN - Operating Room to circulate cardiac, transplant, and multi-specialty cases in a high-acuity academic medical center, requiring strong neuro and multi-service line OR experience.

Details

• Operating Room setting within a busy academic teaching hospital
• Sole circulator role covering all case types with a focus on cardiac and transplant cases
• Patient population includes orthopedic sports, minimally invasive arthroscopic and laparoscopic, robotics, general, GYN, urology, and plastics cases
• Additional experience in neuro, spine, thoracic, and vascular cases is a plus
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-07:30, block schedule Friday-Saturday-Sunday
• Average daily census of 50-75 with 28 operating rooms
• May float within hospital to other specialties during slower periods
• May be asked to perform charge duties
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active WA RN license or compact license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 3-4 years of OR RN experience required
• Strong experience circulating cardiac and transplant cases required
• Experience across multiple service lines (e.g., cardiac, robotics) preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred, though first-time travelers with 3+ years of experience will be considered
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred but not required

• Work in a Magnet-designated, academic teaching hospital environment
• Circulate a wide variety of high-acuity surgical cases across multiple specialties
• Scrubs provided for OR personnel; any color accepted
• COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
• First-time travelers with sufficient experience will be considered
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius restriction
• RTO limited to a maximum of 1 week and cannot be requested during orientation week
• Prior UW Medical Center staff must have a minimum 18-month separation before returning as a traveler
